Day 22 of SEA-Teacher in the Philippines

 Today, September 20, is the twenty-second day of my SEA-Teacher SEAMEO Project Practicum in the Philippines. Today is my last day in the host country. I prepare for my departure and say goodbye to my friends in the dormitory.    One of the challenges I faced today was saying goodbye to my friends at the hostel. Time passed so quickly, we were sad and touched during the program, we did a lot of things together.    While in the host country I learned a lot about the cultural diversity and art of the host country. The host country has cultural diversity such as music, traditional dance and other arts.   I realized that during the program activities in the host country were very beneficial for my experience and broadened my horizons in terms of teaching, culture and general knowledge.    Overall, my twenty-second day of the SEAMEO SEA Teacher Project Practicum was the closing activity of the program and departure back to my home country. Day 21 of SEA-Teacher in the Philippines

     Today, September 19, is my twenty-first day of the Seameo Southeast Asia Teacher Practicum in the Philippines. Today I had a teaching evaluation from Assessors and Supervising Teachers. Then in the afternoon we had a closing ceremony at the College of Education, we also had the opportunity to perform a traditional Dayak dance from East Kalimantan, Indonesia. In the evening we continued with cultural night activities at Barabara's Heritage Resto. We enjoyed typical Filipino food dishes, we also watched traditional art and dance performances from the host country.    One of the challenges I faced today was saying goodbye to my buddies, today was the last time we met before returning to Indonesia. Day 20 of SEA-Teacher in the Philippines

   Today, September 18, is the twentieth day of the Seameo Southeast Asia Teacher Practicum in the Philippines. Today is my teaching demo at Dignity Education High School Grade 9. The topic of today's lesson is Applied Genetics.   One of the challenges I faced today was that during the grand teaching demo, I was a little nervous. I also had to carefully divide the time for learning activities with a one-hour session time.   Today, the learning activities are carried out with an opener, topic explanation, discussion, and essay quiz.    I also learned some basic local languages such as greetings to the students so that they can comfortably follow my learning. I was also impressed that they were all culturally polite to me as a teacher even though I was new to the class.   I realize that preparing teaching materials requires careful planning to be properly organized.   Today, September 17, is the nineteenth day of my Seameo Southeast Asia Teacher Practicum in the Philippines. Today I interacted with my buddy, we discussed about my teaching activities tomorrow. I also prepared the lesson plan for my grand demo.    One of the challenges I currently face is when preparing teaching materials, I must be more thorough in preparing lessons.    I also learned some basic local languages so that when teaching grand demos I can interact more actively with students.   I realize that preparing teaching materials requires a careful and organized plan so that learning can run according to goals.    Overall, the nineteenth day of the SEAMEO SEA Teacher Project Practicum was all about grand demo preparation activities. I am very grateful to my buddy who has helped give me direction and positive feedback.

   Today, September 16, is my eighteenth day of the SEA-Teacher SEAMEO Project Practicum in the Philippines. Today I interacted with my roommate from Thailand and we talked about education in our respective countries. Day 17 of SEA-Teacher in the Philippines

    Today, September 15, is the seventeenth day of my Seameo Southeast Asia Teacher Practicum in the Philippines. Today I and the other SEA- Teacher participants did a cultural tour. We visited Intramuros, National Museum, Malacanan Museum, Rizal Park. Then we also tried Filipino specialties such as Chicken sisig, Jollibee and kwek-kwek street food.   One of the challenges I faced today was understanding the various histories and cultures of the host country which was new to me, I had to focus more on understanding our guide's delivery when explaining in the museum.     During the tour I was impressed by the history and cultural diversity of the Philippines.    Today, September 14, is the sixteenth day of my SEAMEO Southeast Asia Teacher Practicum in the Philippines. Today I did observation and teaching assistance in Dignity class 9. Today's lesson was about Analysis pedegree. the activity started with prayer, discussion and practice questions. I participated in teaching today by explaining the definition part and some examples of Analysis pedegree symbols. I was happy because the students were enthusiastic and interactive in the lesson I delivered.    One of the challenges I currently face is in managing the class, I have to be more careful in dividing the time to explain the lesson because the time is limited to one hour each session.   Today's learning activities are carried out by explaining the lesson topic, discussion, then students are given several practice questions to better understand the lesson topic.   While at school, I was impressed by the students who were always polite and diligent in praying before and after learn
