Day 5 of SEA-Teacher in the Philippines

Today, September 3, is the fifth day of the SEAMEO Southeast Asia Teacher Practicum Project in the Philippines. I started the day by worshipping at the UST church in Santísimo Rosario Parish. Then I interacted with my roommate, as it was a sunny day and we decided to visit the National Museum of the Philippines.

One of the challenges I faced today was the language barrier. The services were in English and Tagalog so I didn't really understand. Then while exploring the Museum, we used public transportation and it was a little difficult because not all the drivers could speak English, but the drivers still tried their best for us.

While worshipping, I could see that people in this country are very punctual. While visiting the Museum, I was able to see the amazing diversity of Philippine history and culture.

The experience of interacting with the locals was very useful. Although they and I had language difficulties, we tried to learn from each other. I was amazed to see the cultural diversity of the host country. I realized that getting to know a country's culture is very important to broaden your horizons.

Overall the fifth day of SEAMEO SEA-Teacher Project Practicum was a daily activity, I was able to learn to recognize and gain insight into the culture and history of the host country.
