Day 12 of SEA-Teacher in the Philippines

    Today, September 10, is my twelfth day of the SEAMEO Southeast Asia Teacher Practicum project in the Philippines. Since it is the weekend, my fellow SEA- Teacher participants and I visited the Mall of Asia (MoA) which is one of the biggest malls in Southeast Asia. The mall is very spacious and has various facilities and complete rides. My friends and I tried the Ferris wheel ride called SM MoA Eye, I could see a very beautiful view of the Mall and the sea. Then while in the dormitory I also prepared the teaching assistance lesson for Monday. I studied the teaching materials given to me.





   One of the challenges I faced today was local language and place recognition. As I explored the sights I had a bit of trouble interacting with the locals. But all went well and I was able to visit a beautiful place in the city of Manila, Philippines.

   During my time at the tourist attractions, I was impressed by the people who were always polite, such as when I asked for the address of a place they were always helpful. The local culture is very friendly and happy to help each other.

   The sightseeing visits were very beneficial to broaden my horizons. I also realized that learning the local language of the host country is important for good interaction.

  Overall, my twelfth day of the SEAMEO SEA-Teacher Project Practicum was all about visiting tourist attractions. I was able to learn recognize places and gain insight into Philippine culture.

    Today marks the first day of my SEA-Teacher SEAMEO Project Practicum in the Philippines. I started today by looking at the dormitory, the conditions are very comfortable and the staff is also very friendly. In the afternoon I also saw the area around the campus which was very spacious with the facilities available.     One of the challenges I encountered today was the language barrier. Although I have learned some basics in the host country's language, to convey broad conversation is a bit difficult. But I noticed that some of the host country languages ​​have words that are similar to Indonesian. Day 20 of SEA-Teacher in the Philippines

   Today, September 18, is the twentieth day of the Seameo Southeast Asia Teacher Practicum in the Philippines. Today is my teaching demo at Dignity Education High School Grade 9. The topic of today's lesson is Applied Genetics.   One of the challenges I faced today was that during the grand teaching demo, I was a little nervous. I also had to carefully divide the time for learning activities with a one-hour session time.   Today, the learning activities are carried out with an opener, topic explanation, discussion, and essay quiz.    I also learned some basic local languages such as greetings to the students so that they can comfortably follow my learning. Day 2 of SEA-Teacher in the Philippines

     Today, August 31, marks the second day of my SEAMEO SEA-Teacher Practicum Project in the Philippines. I started the day with a warning from my lecturer that the weather was bad today and we were encouraged to stay inside the dormitory. I interacted with my roommates about our respective countries. Later in the afteToday's experience was both challenging and rewarding. I was able to see the habits of the host country's people to remain productive despite the sometimes bad weather, and the officials were always ready to provide weather information.
